WHAT IS GREEN BUILDING?
Green building is the construction of a design which focuses on energy efficiency, healthy air quality, the use of sustainable and earth friendly products (inside and out), reducing waste, and recycling project waste.
Just because something says it's green does not mean it is green. And when something is green, it may not be the best fit for your project.
My goal as your builder is to provide a True Green approach to building. This approach looks to find the best balance of the most current green practices and products that fit your budget, fit your home’s style, and look great!
In collaboration, we can decide how many green elements you want to include in your new home or renovation. You can choose, only a few or many green elements that fit your needs and budget.
True Green options are available in all areas of construction:
• Site selection
• Design
• Demolition
• Foundation

• Siding
• Insulation

WHY BUILD GREEN?
Today’s green technology has come a long way. There are thousands of green options in building homes, and when you choose the ones that are a good fit for your project, you end up with a home that is more energy efficient, healthy, and will last longer with less maintenance and repair work.
Do it for the Money.
Many green items can cost you less money up front than common building methods and materials.
It is also true that many green items can cost more up front, however the payback period for the increased cost is getting shorter. With or without government rebates, many key green features definitely make financial sense.
Resale of your home with energy efficient and healthy features will payback on the resale of your home. Real estate brokers are now getting certified as “green real estate agents” – there are many now certified in Wellesley.
Do it for your health
The average American spends 90 percent of their life indoors. Indoor air quality in most homes is worse than the air quality outside the home. High performance and green HVAC systems, when designed and installed correctly, will greatly improve the air quality of the home.
Do it as your contribution to the sustainability of our planet. The world has limited resources and serious issues with the depletion of its limited resources, pollution and population growth. Our kids are learning about it as early as kindergarten as part of core curriculum. Building green is a great investment for you, your family and the environment.
