WHY I WENT GREEN WITH HOMEBUILDING
After some success from traditional home building I became very aware of the many sustainability issues of our planet. I also became aware of how important it is to contribute on some level to the solution of this real problem.
Working first hand with the construction and renovation of new homes I could see just how much of an impact green building could have. In the US, the residential sector accounts for 22% of the total energy consumed, 74% of the water and 21% of the U.S. carbon dioxide emissions. So I made the commitment to go true green on all my construction projects.
I believe that if we all are conscious of this sustainability problem and make an effort to reduce our negative impact on our planets resources through our daily routine and even bigger decision, like home construction, we will make a noticeable positive change.
I would welcome the opportunity to be the builder part of your team helping you achieve a true green new home or renovation.
I build each home as if it were my own and treat it as an original piece of art. I respect the details in design and finish work but also the bones of the house that make it sustainable and healthy.
The technology behind green products, and the techniques to install them change rapidly and new green products are introduced regularly. I am committed to keeping on top of these changes. I attend continuing education courses on green building, green related trade shows and subscribe to several online and print green construction related magazines. All of my subcontractors and vendors are aware of my Green focus and together we continually search for the best green techniques and products for our projects.
Since our projects are collaborations between us and the client, we are able to incorporate specific products or techniques which are important to you.
Please feel free to contact me for a meeting to discuss your current project or tour one of my project homes.
